Hidden behind Don Muang Airport, you find the district of Sai Mai. It is purely a residential area and can boast of being the highest populated district of all the 50 districts that Bangkok is comprised of. The housing in most of the district, consists of single houses, townhouses and neighborhoods known as “moobaan”, in thai language. Sai Mai district suddenly grew in population, mainly to cater to the industries that grew up around the airport, when it was commercialised from being a military airport in 1924.

Sai Mai is well connected, mainly by the Don Muang Expressway, Sukhaphiban 5 road, Chalong Rat Expressway, Lam Lukka Road and Highway 9.
